Project Idlewild – A Complete Bathroom Renovation

  • September 13, 2017

We all have a room in our home that grows more and more outdated as the years go by. Our friends at Project Idlewild we’re ready to say, “out with the old, and in with the new.”

After reaching out to our office and setting up a free consultation, our project managers were excited to get this complete renovation started. We started with the demolition of the space – removing the existing vanity, bathtub, mirror, shower, light fixtures and linen closet. After hauling these items away, we had a clean slate to start installing water proofing for the shower. Once this was done, we can start laying the new shower flooring, a black matte penny round and installing the white subway tile in the shower. By adding the new shower seat and built in niche into the design, we were able to make the shower a more functional space.

Installed horizontally, vertically, or in a herringbone pattern, subway tile has a clean line aesthetic. In this project, we coordinated with the client and decided that the using a herringbone pattern would be our best option. In align with the client’s design preferences, we were able to give the space some modern touches by installing the shower door with black hardware and modern shower fixture.

Once the shower was complete, we were able to install the new fun, patterned floor tile and move on to the new vanity installation. Once the old vanity was removed, we patched up areas of the sheet rock and moved the plumbing for the new pedestal sink. After the pedestal sink is in place, we installed the circular mirror (a great pick by our client!) and added the newly painted floating shelves to replace the old linen closet.

To complete the look of the new bathroom design, new vanity lighting was installed above the sink as well as canned recess lighting above the shower. Switch on the lights, and the nude wallpaper really starts to bring the whole look together. Kick off the hard hat and put down the tools – Project Idlewild’s new bathroom remodel is sure to impress house guests with it’s modern look and great touches of personality.
