6. HOPE Outdoor Gallery
The HOPE Outdoor Gallery is a community paint park located in Downtown Austin on 11th and Baylor St. The park opened in 2011 and is ran by local non-profit HOPE Events. The park provides educational classes and a space for community groups to work on murals and large scale pieces. The gallery will be expanding and moving to a new East Austin home at 9507 Sherman Rd in 2018. Head to the park for a unique artsy shot. Park hours are from 9am-7pm daily.
5. Zilker Park
Zilker Park is Austin’s beloved metropolitan park stretching over 350 acres. You can enjoy a range of recreation activities and special events here. Take a run on the Lady Bird Hike and Bike Trail, a dip in Barton Springs Pool, join a sporting league or head out to the Zilker Kite Festival, Blues on the Green or Austin City Limits. The views of Downtown Austin are unmatched from the park. Another great tip is to check out The Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road. The scenery from this iconic restaurant is ideal for top notch photos. Snap your next family or company photo in front of the the one-of-a-kind backdrop. Park hours are from 5am-10pm daily.
4. Texas State Capitol
The Texas State Capitol opened in 1888 and contains the offices and chambers of the Texas Legislature and the office of the Governor. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1986. The building is constructed of Hill Country limestone from Oak Hill and red granite sourced near Marble Falls. The Capitol sits on 2.25 acres of land and has over 900 windows. Grab a spot on the lawn, take a spin under the rotunda or snap your iconic photo from the front sidewalk. The Capitol is open from 7am-10pm Monday through Friday and 9am-8pm Saturday and Sunday.
3. Easy Tiger
Sitting creekside with giant greenery walls, craft beers and baked goods – Easy Tiger is Instagram gold. Drop in with your date, your friends or your coworkers and snap some photos your followers are sure to be envious of. Easy Tiger is located in over a hundred year old historic building in Downtown Austin. Along with great views of the city, you can find plenty of scenic spaces to kick back and relax. Easy Tiger is open from 11am-2am daily and located at 709 E. 6th St.
2. Mount Bonnell
Mont Bonnell, also known as Covert Park, sits alongside a beautiful stretch of the Colorado River. The peak is considered the highest point in Austin city limits sitting at 775ft. The peak is named for George Bonnell, who served as Commissioner of Indian Affairs for the Texas Republic. Climb to the top and peer out into the hills of West Austin and down on to some of Austin’s finest real estate. This spot is ideal for those cheesy couple photos or even your next Instagram (or even Linked In!) profile picture. The park is located at 3800 Mt. Bonnell Rd. The park is open from 5am-10pm daily.
1. Butler Park
Butler Park, formerly known as Town Lake Park, includes an oval-shaped meadow, a plaza space and is home to the Liz Carpenter Fountain. The park is lined with running trails and provides easy access to the Long Center and the Palmer Events Center. Our insider tip here for an even more spectacular view – climb to the top of the Long Center parking garage. Within the park, the most attractive feature is a 35-foot hill with sweeping views of Downtown Austin. Take a hike to the top and snap that postcard Insta photo – we recommend your next company photo atop the hill. The park is open from 5am-10pm daily.
